Beginners Road Runners
Frequently Asked Questions
If you have ever wanted to start running but thought that joining a club was a bit daunting then the Beginners Road Runners is for you.
Our aim is to get you to run 5K. You can then take part in a Park Run with other club members if you want too!
Where do you meet and at what time?
We meet at Baysgarth School, Barrow Road, Barton-upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire, DN18 6AE at 6.30pm every Thursday.
There is car parking space available at the school.
What does the Beginners Road Runners involve?
You will be assessed to see what you can and cannot do. You will then be assigned a Run Leader who will help you with your running in that session.
I am not that fast or am worried about being left behind?
You will not be left on your own. If there are members in your group that are quicker than you they will either loop around on the path and come back to you or alternative run to a set point and wait. If it is a larger group there is normally someone who runs at the back to make sure no one is left behind!
What should I wear?
Ensure you wear comfortable clothing, a not too tight fitting-shirt, a pair jogging bottoms or shorts, a pair of comfortable trainers and for ladies a good fitting sports bra is essential. If the weather is cold, it is advisable to layer up.
Do I need any thing else?
We do advise you to bring a bottle of water or other cool drink and a sweatshirt or hoodie for when you have finished your run.
Sounds good to me what do I do now?
