The Deepdale Dash 10k returned in style on Sunday 2nd November drawing runners from across the region for one of the most anticipated late-season races on the calendar. Hosted by your very own Barton & District AC and supported by an enthusiastic volunteer team, the event once again delivered its signature blend of scenic countryside running and friendly rivalry.
Runners set off under cool, bright conditions, with only a light breeze across the open sections of the course. The atmosphere at the start line was buoyant, with almost 500 entrants gathering at Baysgarth School in Barton-upon-Humber for the earlier start time of 9.30am.
Supporters were ever-present around the route as the runners made their way across the rolling terrain the Dash is known for.
Local lad and BADAC shining star, Oliver Donkin broke away early in the race to break the course record in 31:18, almost 3 minutes head of the second place runner Ben Baugh (34:04) and Thomas Moulding of Hyde Park Harriers (34:41).
The ladies race was won for the second year in a row by Off That Couch Fitness athlete Nicola Curtis in 36:10 ahead of fellow athlete (and twin sister) Lindsay Skinner also of OTCF in 36:53. City of Hull’s Becky Ramsay completed the podium in 39:23.

As always, the Dash thrived due to its volunteer base, led by BADAC Club Chairman Mark Nettleton, alongside club members and their families and friends. The water station was fantastically staffed by the youth coaches and some of their youth team members.
Once again, the Deepdale Dash was a resounding success, along with another fantastic hoodie – thank you to all for enabling this event to go ahead.
