Training Plans For All Levels

Welcome to the Barton & District AC Training Plans hub — your go-to resource for structured, science-backed training programs designed to help you achieve your running goals. Whether you’re chasing a new 5K personal best, stepping up to the marathon, or simply looking to train smarter, our plans are built on proven methods from world-renowned coaches and tailored to suit a wide range of abilities.

Each plan has been carefully crafted with a focus on progressive overload, phase-based periodisation (Base, Build, Peak, and Taper), and race specificity. Backed by research and experience, these plans combine the best elements of modern coaching philosophy — including insights from Arthur Lydiard, Renato Canova, Jack Daniels, Greg McMillan, and others — and are suitable for everyone from beginners to seasoned Club level athletes.

Choose your race distance, and goal time, to access a downloadable plan that reflects your ambitions and current ability level. All plans are colour-coded by training phase and session training load, plus they’re clearly labelled by session type, and designed to build both fitness and confidence, one week at a time.
