The Roseberry Topping event in the Hardmoors 26.2 Trail Series took place on Sunday 31st August with three trail races being held, each looping out from Guisborough and returning to the same point to finish.
- Marathon – approximately 30 miles, 4850ft ascent and 10 hour time limit
- Half marathon – approximately 14.5 miles, 3200ft ascent and 5 hour time limit
- 10k – approximately 9miles, 1600ft ascent and 3 hour time limit
The routes cover very exposed areas of the North Yorks Moors – the marathon climbs to the highest part of the moors and stays there for several miles. Tracy Chaplin and Sue Oldfield travelled to participate in the marathon distance on the last day of August with Sue being rewarded with the 1st in her age category prize with the event delivering its promise of challenging trail running through a beautiful, rugged area.
