With over 21,000 finishers, the streets of London came alive as runners from dozens of clubs took on the iconic route starting at Tower Bridge and winding through Canary Wharf, Wapping, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Deptford before finishing by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
This vibrant, inclusive half marathon celebrates the diversity of London and the communities of the four boroughs the route passes through: Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich.
On race day Sunday 7th September, Jack Rowe clinched his third consecutive Big Half win, matching Mo Farah’s record of 3 titles, finishing in 1:04:08 ahead of Mohamud Aadan (1:04:46) and Weynay Ghebresilasie (1:04:53)
In the women’s race, Jessica Warner-Judd crossed the line in 1:10:35 ahead of Lincoln Wellington AC’s Abbie Donnelly (1:11:24) and Samantha Harrison (1:11:40).
Representing Barton & District AC were the all-female trio of Beth Montgomery, Zoe Adams and Victoria Dukes who returned to the capital to run another big race having run the London Marathon in April this year, in memory of her much-missed sister and BADAC member Catherine.
