Personal Bests and Club Pride: Our 2024 Youth Presentation

On Thursday 27th March, the Youth and Junior sections of Barton & District Athletic Club came together to celebrate a year of impressive progress, dedication, and achievement at our 2024 Presentation Evening. Held after training at Baysgarth School, the event turned the main hall into a lively showcase of young talent, teamwork, and the spirit that makes BADAC so special.

The evening was an opportunity to reflect on a brilliant year across track and field competitions, club representation, and personal development. With friends and family in attendance, the atmosphere was full of pride and encouragement as athletes of all ages were recognised for their hard work and commitment.

🏆 Awards and Recognition

As tradition dictates, the evening began with the presentation of medals and trophies for outstanding performances throughout the year. Athletes were celebrated not just for podium finishes, but also for their consistent dedication, sportsmanship, and contribution to team events.

This year’s awards also included recognition for club representation. Depending on the number of events attended over the season, athletes received practical and much-loved club-branded items such as hoodies, water bottles, or gilets – a great way to reward commitment and build a sense of identity within the club.

PB Awards – Celebrating Personal Progress

One of the highlights of the evening was the continuation of the PB Awards scheme – a fantastic initiative that rewards personal improvement across a wide range of events. With nine achievement levels for each age group, the PB Awards encourage our young athletes to push themselves and track their progress across all track and field disciplines. Whether it’s shaving seconds off a sprint or mastering a new throwing technique, every step forward counts – and every step was celebrated.

👏 Thanks to Our Coaches & Volunteers

None of this would be possible without the passion and commitment of our coaching and support team. A huge thank you goes to Mark Ding, Ian Papworth, Craig Galbraith, Rachel Muller, Eve Couch, Naomi Clark, and Aimee Muller for their tireless work throughout the year. From delivering sessions in all weathers to offering guidance and encouragement at every competition, their influence on our young athletes cannot be overstated.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the new season, the energy and enthusiasm from the presentation evening will carry us forward. With more training, competitions, and opportunities for our young athletes to shine, the future of Barton & District AC is looking brighter than ever.

Congratulations to all our Youth and Junior athletes – we’re proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
