Whilst all the headlines on the day were of a different Harry completing the marathon in under 3 hours, our very own Harry Storr and Leigh Gillatt survived the unseasonably high temperatures to finish strongly amongst the 48,000 finishers.
Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe and Rosemary Wanjiru secured a Kenyan double victory at the 2025 BMW Berlin Marathon. Sawe won the men’s race in a time of 2:02:16 with Japan’s Akira Akasaki (Japan) and Chimdessa Debele (Ethiopia) finishing in 2:06:15 and 2:06:57 respectively. Wanjiru took the women’s title in 2:21:05 just ahead of the Ethiopian duo of Dera Dida (2:21:08) and Azmera Gebru (2:21:29) on Sunday 21st September.
