The Humber Road Race Championships took centre stage at the Ennerdale Cycle Track on Saturday 4th October 2025, bringing together some of the region’s finest athletes for a morning of competitive and spirited racing. The event, hosted by Humber Athletic Association, showcased impressive performances across all age groups and distances, with runners tackling the fast, flat circuit under difficult conditons.
The championships attracted athletes from across the Humber region including BADAC, Cleethorpes AC, Beverley AC, Kingston upon Hull AC, City of Hull AC, Scunthorpe Harriers, Bridlington Road Runners and Scunthorpe & District AC.
Barton & District AC’s Oliver Donkin took the senior race crown with a one second victory over Sebastian Pearson of KUHAC with Russel Greaves of City of Hull finishing third. Daniel Woodforth finished a credible 6th overall, second in his age category with a PB to boot. The Under 13 Boys won the Team Race with Teddy Morgan just edging Oliver Jones over the line to victory with Isaac Browne and Nicholas Mullineaux just out of the individual medal places. Harry Atkin achieved a PB, the only U15 representing the club on the day, likewise junior Elsie Bruce finished 3rd with a PB. Much credit goes to these athletes who turned up to represent the club during the first storm of the year which caused havoc around the region.
